Representation Task

Task 1:
Look at a range of films and try to identify the ways in which people are represented.
Create a Google Presentation to evidence your findings. Find 5 and use images to illustrate.
Headings could include - geek, scientist, every man, fall guy, femme fatale, girl next door, hag, hero, jock, killbot, reluctant hero etc etc
List their character atributes within the slides.

Extension task 1 - gather names of existing fim characters that fit with the headings. e.g. Reluctant hero - Bilbo Baggins

Extension task 2 - list the characteristics that are usually associated with the characters in question.


When you have pasted the embed code into the HTML side of the post, update the he numbers to read 600 and 450. This will resize the drawing to be the same size as the one above.

Representation

Task 2 - Sci FI FIlm research.

Using the web, find out as much as you can about the big Sci Fi films that have been out within the last few years.

Make a copy of THIS DOC for your findings.
If you have completed in plenty of time, create Google Presentation of your findings - this way you can take advantage of images and text.

Task: Using Photoshop and Dafont, create a blog header.
Make sure you include the following info:

Your name  /  GCSE  /  Media Studies

SIZE = 900 X 300 PIXELS

Think about colour, hierarchy and clarity.

Setting up your blog

Your first extended study task is to set up your personal course blog.  This part needs to be done at home as Google+ is blocked in school.  It falls under the 'social network' banner.  One set up, there is no need to post anything as yet, we will do that in lesson times to begin with.

Create your course blog.  Deadline: Mon 9th Sept.
Title - GCSE Media
Address - (yourname)GCSEmedia.blogspot.co.uk
Template - 'Simple'

Then send an email to me (deh@thomasadams.net) 
Subject - hi Sir :)
Content - the email you used to log into your blog AND your password (or password hint)
